I. SAW. HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS pt. 1. TO.DAY.
boy was the movie HEAA-VYY. i mean, it was dark. but in a spectacular way. and it was really action-packed! scary at times, even.truly kept me at the edge of my seat! although i thought harry’s mourning of hedwig’s death was almost non-existent in the film, which i thought wasn’t fair to hedwig! and, yet again, the portrayal of the reunion and reconciliation of ron and harry kinda fell short for me. but i must admit, ron is very charming in this film. as in DUPER. and harry and hermione’s torrid kissing scene was like whoa. hermione was, in ron’s words, “brilliant” and absolutely gorgeous. and though the film ran for more than a couple of hours, it never felt like it. for those who are just about to see it, beware of the dobby scene. he was pretty heroic, and his demise was nothing but epic. of course, the film was cut short, much to the dismay of the viewers, and i feel like there’s this big cloud hanging around me after because i just can’t wait to see the second part of the deathly hallows. can’t believe we all still have to wait for seven bloody months. that’s just torture!
i have to admit, i always found the harry potter movies to not give enough justice to the brilliance of the imaginations of j.k. rowling. but with a wicked mind like hers, who could really? anyway, there are only two harry potter films that i really liked and made me feel the very same magical feeling every time i opened a harry potter book, and that was harry potter and the sorcerer’s stone, and this. deathly hallows part 1. the other films were brilliant as well, don’t get me wrong, but they always, always fell short in capturing the important emotions that happened in each series, and were masters at mashing up scenes that completely altered the story altogether. but, as mentioned, who in this world could actually capture the wicked mind of j.k. rowling? not in this lifetime, i suppose.
so go watch it. i bet we’re actually watching more than a movie here, but an historic moment right before our eyes. one that our children, and our grandchildren, and our great grandchildren will truly envy.
